He shares styling with the Yamaha SR500 that has a larger engine capacity. The first generation has a 249 cc and second generation has a 239 cc.

SR250 is produced in two versions in the United States from 1980 to 1982 and in Spain from a year 1982-2000. While it had similarities to the style of the older brother of the SR500 and SR400, SR250 is more like a commuter motorcycle.
